Badminton is a sport which is played with the help of racquets. The most common and most played forms is the singles, there is a person on each side. The game can be played both outdoor and indoor. Points can be scored by striking the shuttle with the racquet and it should land in the opposite side of the court.
Each person can only strike the shuttle for once until it returns again. The first rally ends when the shuttle touches or hits the ground.
The Shuttlecock is made of feathers and in the modern days its made with plastic which makes it more lighter and predictable. The game was developed in British India.
The court width is 6.1meteres (20ft) and in singles the width is reduced to 17ft. The length of the court is 44ft. There is a centre line which is called as service line. The short service line is at a distance of 1.98 metres (6ft 6inch). The net should be 1.55metres (5ft 1inch) high. The nets are placed on poles on either side.
