Karate is yet another martial art developed in the Ryuku Kingdom. It was developed from various Ryukuian Martial Arts which was called as "hand". Karate will be making its debut on the big stage as an Olympic sport at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. The event will be featuring Kumite and Kata. There will be around 60 participants from around the world who will be competing.
Karate is now aart of striking, punching, kicking, knee strikes and etc. In modern styles, throws, joint locks and grappling are also a part of the process. The martial arts movies from the era of 1960s and 1970s served to increase the community of karate. And within years it was more than popular. Karate schools began to start around the world.
Tournaments are are designed to match the members of the opponent party/schools or styles in Kata. The World Karate Federation is the biggest karate organization in the world and it is recognised by the International Olympic Committee.
